The Truth About Truvia

I know a lot of you are avoiding toxic, white, processed sugar at all costs. And you should be! But a question I'm asked a lot is what I recommend using instead - in your coffee or tea,  on a grapefruit - wherever. I typically suggest using Coconut Palm Sugar, Dates or Stevia (all organic, of course). Be aware though - not all stevia products are made equally. You'll find crystalized, liquified and powdered options, some involving more processing and chemicals (avoid these!) than others, but none should be avoided quite like Truvia.

Food-industry insider and activist, Bruce Bradley, fills us in on the real deal with this not so natural sweetener here. What really struck me was, as Bradley points out, that while Truvia's website describes its creation process as being similar to making tea, the 40-step process involving acetone, methanol, ethanol, acetonitrile, and isopropanol detailed in its patents speaks to the contrary. I'll be staying far away from this Cargill & Coca-Cola developed zero-calorie toxin, and I hope you will too!

Definitely try to stick to truly natural, certified organic sweeteners whenever possible! Your body will thank you!

Keep it Real,

LVO
